Norstaal Inka

Norstaal Inka

Norstaal Inka

There is some discussion over who was responsible for the design of Norstaal Inka cutlery. Although many attribute it to Tias Eckhoff, others maintain it was conceived by Eric Herlow in 1956. Whatever its provenance, it has remained one of Norstaal's iconic design classics and is widely collected. Its simple, clean lines inspired many copies, including Spear & Jackson and Ashberry's 'Merton' range. The Norstaal original, however, was forged from 12-12 stainless steel, which is more delicate than later interpretations. The Inka range was resurrected in latter years, but these items were manufactured from 18-10 stainless steel, giving them an altogether heavier feel and darker colour.
