John Lewis cutlery is famous for its high quality. Older patterns were produced for the company under the Jonelle trade name, by major cutlery maufacturers, but usually had Jonelle cast or etched on them. In more recent times, the John Lewis name started to be used, instead of Jonelle and the manufacturer's name was etched onto the product, instead. Some ranges did not have anything on them, except 'stainless steel'.
